WEMAX has released a new competitive projector – WEMAX One Pro, 7000 lumens plus UHD 4K resolution, contrast ratio is up to 3000:1, and the updated ALPD 3.0 laser light source is adopted. What’s more, it hits the market with the price of $1,664.99. Let’s compare this new projector with another popular 4K projector-XGIMI Horizon Pro, also sold for $1,699, WEMAX One Pro vs XGIMI Horizon Pro, check out which one is more attractive.
XGIMI Horizon Pro offers impressive 2,200 ANSI lumen brightness, while WEMAX One Pro also offers excellent 7,000 Lumens. However, it’s hard to categorically say which one is brighter, because the two projectors used different units to refer to brightness. However, according to the contrast ratio spec claimed by each brand, we can tell that XGIMI Horizon Pro has higher contrast ratio than WEMAX One Pro. The former provides 3000:1, and the latter provides 10000:1. With that said, XGIMI Horizon Pro will perform better in terms of presenting the crisp details in black area of the picture.
Another critical factor that affects the value of a projector is light source. As we can see, WEMAX One Pro is equipped with the advanced ALPD 3.0 laser light source, XGIMI Horizon Pro applies LED lamp as its light source. Both of them have lamp lifetime that is up to incredible 25,000 hours. But laser projector has the advantage that LED projector is short of. Picture produced by laser light is more natural and vivid in color, really elevates those late-night movie sessions.
As for the audio effect, both XGIMI Horizon Pro and WEMAX One Pro support Dolby sound, but XGIMI Horizon Pro gets the better of WEMAX One Pro by being tuned via Harman Kardon. XGIMI Horizon Pro’s room-filling sound effects should bring users an immersive audio experience.
At last, we have to discuss another important difference between XGIMI Horizon Pro and WEMAX One Pro, because for users who are all about ultra short throw projector, you may have to choose WEMAX One Pro. Because with the throw ratio of 0.233:1, WEMAX One Pro can be rated as UST projector, allowing to you place it near the screen or watch it in a small room. On the other hand, UST projector usually comes with screen size as large as 150 inch, XGIMI Horizon Pro, however, can provide giant screen that is up to 300 inch.
Except for the main differences that we’ve mentioned above, XGIMI Horizon Pro and WEMAX One Pro are quite close with each other in other specs and features. They all support HDR, 3D mode, UHD 4K resolution, and wireless connection including Bluetooth and WiFi. XGIMI Horizon Pro vs WEMAX One Pro, it is really a close-run race. Either of them is impressive and eye-catching, no matter in terms of price, appearance or features.
