Samsung has once again showcased Ballie at CES 2024, the spherical projector, with the hope that it will serve as your ultimate home companion.
First introduced at the 2020 CES exhibition, Ballie is a compact spherical robot with two narrow wheels and a pill-shaped cutout at the front housing various sensors, cameras, and a complete projector.
Dubbed by Samsung as “your true artificial intelligence companion,” Ballie goes beyond being a mobile projector; it can navigate through your home, responding to your every need.
In a video demonstration, Samsung illustrated multiple use cases. When users are away, Ballie can be prompted to feed pets and check on their well-being. It can initiate live streams and activate smart pet feeders to provide fresh food for cats.
Upon the user’s return, Ballie greets them and is ready to fulfill various requests, following them around the house.
Ballie serves as a makeshift smartphone screen, allowing users to engage in video calls with others. It transforms into a fitness assistant by projecting workout videos. During cooking sessions, it can project recipes onto the wall.
Samsung envisions Ballie not just as a piece of technology but as a seamless part of your daily life, offering a glimpse into the future of personalized and interactive home entertainment.
