Optoma D2 ultra short throw projector adopts 3000 Lumen single laser light source. It offers 121% Rec.709 color gamut. The contrast ratio is rated at 1,800,000:1 contrast and the Optoma D2+ gives the same 1,800,000:1 contrast ratio.
Both Optoma D2 and Optoma D2+ support 4K UHD Resolution with over 8,000,000 individual pixels as well as 3000 lumens light output. They are all equipped with 20W built in speakers to produce room filling sound.
Optoma D2 and Optoma D2+ are featured with incredibly 4ms input lag for 240Hz 1080p and 60Hz 4K gaming. This makes both of them the best choice for gaming projector. However there is a light difference between then in terms of input lag. Optoma D2 offers 16.9m input lag while Optoma D2+ offers as low to 4m input lag.
As for the throw ratio, they all provide 0.25:1 throw ratio. They support 3D and give 3 HDMI 2.0 ports including one with eARC and lower latency.
To sum up, the Optoma CinemaX D2+ will be basically the same as the D2 but with an external Android TV dongle from Hako mini gives you 4K streaming content. Therefore, Optoma Cinemax D2+ costs more than Optoma Cinemax D2 with around 200 USD.
