The laser projector is an excellent alternative to TV, usually with an ultra short throw design, which can be placed in front of the wall like a TV. Of course, laser TV also projects pictures onto a specific screen and then reflects them to the human eye, which is a very safe viewing device.
However, if you look directly at the lens, the laser light source may cause eye damage. But this is not endemic to the laser light. Eye damage would happen as well if you look ditectly to the lens of lamp based projector.
Some of the laser projector will be featured with TOF sensor to avoid this situation. It is an infrared recognition system around the lens. When a child or pet looks at the lens or stand in front of the lens, the laser light will automatically darken and the screen will display a safety prompt.
