The Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2025 (AWE 2025) officially opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, where Hisense—an industry leader in laser display technology—unveiled its latest innovation: the X1 Laser TV. Boasting a record-setting 1000-nit full-screen brightness and theater-grade technology, the X1 has already been honored with the prestigious AWE Appliance Innovation Award, setting a new benchmark for immersive home entertainment.

Recognized as one of the most authoritative product awards in China, the AWE Appliance Innovation Award evaluates products across dimensions such as technological innovation, smart ecosystems, and environmental health. It offers a reliable reference for consumers seeking premium home appliances, while also reflecting the evolving trajectory of China’s home appliance industry.
At this year’s event, the Hisense X1 made a strong impression with a suite of advanced features, including the industry’s first ultra-bright tricolor laser engine, a cinema-grade DMD chip architecture, Hisense’s proprietary “Spectrum Select” technology, and a next-gen digital laser engine (LPU). Together, these innovations deliver exceptional image quality, immersive audio, and enhanced eye protection—redefining the at-home cinema experience.
One of the X1’s standout features is the new “Spectrum Select” technology developed by Hisense. Leveraging the unique properties of laser light, this breakthrough employs nanoscale optical tuning to selectively reflect desired light wavelengths for display, while effectively absorbing ambient light interference. The result: a remarkable 40% boost in display brightness, reaching up to 1000 nits, with vivid highlights and deep blacks, free from unwanted reflections.
To meet the expectations of AV enthusiasts, the X1 features a cinema-grade laser light source and the same DMD chip architecture found in professional theaters. Its audio system has also been significantly upgraded, now incorporating a Harman Kardon 9.1.4 surround sound setup that delivers a larger-than-life soundstage—bringing IMAX-like viewing right into the living room.
Eye comfort remains a top priority for consumers, and the X1 continues Hisense’s commitment to eye-friendly design. Built on a reflection-based imaging principle, the X1 eliminates harmful blue light by using precise light control at the nanometer level. The display avoids harsh glare and harmful wavelengths, reducing visual fatigue even during extended viewing sessions.
Since initiating its laser display development in 2007, Hisense has consistently driven innovation in the field. From monochrome to tricolor lasers, from 4K to 8K resolution, and from rollable to foldable screens, Hisense has pioneered every major leap in laser display technology. As of now, the company holds 2,806 patent applications globally, with 1,350 patents already granted.
Laser TVs are quickly becoming the go-to solution for premium large-screen entertainment. According to market research firm Omdia, Hisense claimed a commanding 65.8% share of the global laser TV market in 2024—ranking No. 1 for the sixth consecutive year. That means two out of every three laser TVs sold worldwide come from Hisense, underscoring the brand’s dominant position in the high-end display segment.
The Hisense X1 Laser TV is expected to officially launch in May. With growing demand for large-screen viewing and the support of China’s home appliance subsidy program, the X1 is poised to become the new gold standard for premium home theaters.
