Recently, more and more laser projectors adopt triple laser technology. As a coin has two sides, triple laser projectors also have their advantages and disadvantages.
RGB triple laser is also known as “panchromatic laser”, whose principle is to select the specific wavelength of the laser “red, green, and blue” three primary colors, and then irradiate to the DMD display chip to form the required screen color.
However, there is interference between each other as the three colors of the laser are synthesized in different times and spaces, so there will be scattering and color shifts in the process. The green scattering is the most obvious, followed by red, and finally blue.
That is to say, the triple laser technique tends to have scattering and color shifts, which will lead to eye fatigue and dizziness.
Projector with triple laser technique has good color performance and a wider color gamut and color accuracy due to the adoption of three primary colors.
ALPD is developed by Appotronics, which is based on the principle of using a single blue laser to excite the phosphor on the fluorescent color wheel and send out red, green, and blue light through the prism, and finally shoot the light into the DMD display chip for imaging, that’s why it is also called “fluorescent laser technology”.
