Dangbei F1, Dangbei F1C, and Dangbei F3 are all flagship projectors from Dangbei brand. In this article, I will review them from appearance, system, image to find their differences.
Appearance
The modeling design of Dangbei F3 is quite different from the previous two models. The body of Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F1C is flat, which adopts the combination of space gray ABS plastic material and dark gray mesh cloth, while the body of Dangbei F3 is obviously much squarer and tridimensional, using dark gray aluminum-alloy mesh as the middle frame and plastic as the upper and lower cover.
From the perspective of color matching and design style, Dangbei F1 and F1C are more commercial, while Dangbei F3 is suited for diversified applicable scenes, giving people a sense of steady and splendidness.
The key point of the front is the lens design. The lenses of all three projectors are protected by a glass sheet, which is convenient for cleaning. The built-in optical machine display light source is a 4LED lamp set.
There are also differences in the focusing lens. F1C and F3 are equipped with dual TOF+CMOS cameras though differ in speed, but F1 only has a single focusing camera, that’s why F1 has no feature of non-inductive trapezoidal correction.
For the side, both Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F1C have left and right ventilation to complete heat dissipation, and the design of the heat dissipation fence is similar. Dangbei F3 adopts a three-channel heat dissipation system, and the ventilation holes on the left and right sides are mainly used for cold air intake.
In terms of ports, the interfaces are all placed at the back of 3 projectors. Compared with F1 and F1C, Dangbei F3 has one more HDMI port and a separate S/PDIF interface. At the same time, the cooling air duct of Dangbei F3 is designed on the backside, which forms a complete three-way cooling system with the cold air duct on both sides.
The three models have similar remote control and power adapter. There are some slight design changes.
System
All of the three projectors use Dangbei OS with a similar UI. They all use DLP technology and MStar6A938 processor. Both Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F1C adopt the combination of 3G+32G, while Dangbei F3 has a slight upgrade in chip and memory, and the memory configuration adopts the combination of 4G+64G.
Display Chip
Their display chip is slightly different. Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F3 are equipped with 0.47 “DMD, while Dangbei F1C uses 0.33” DMD.
Focus
Dangbei F1 supports auto focus. F1C and F3 are improved a lot, which support Non-inductive autofocus.
Keystone Correction
Dangbei F1 uses traditional keystone correction. Dangbei F1C and Dangbei F3 support real-time keystone correction, which rely on dual TOF+CMOS cameras.
Smart Voice
The main human-computer interaction experience of intelligent voice function has been quite common, so do the three projectors.
Compared with Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F1C, Dangbei F3 has a far-field voice function, which can directly wake up by voice without remote control. This function is very practical.
Image Quality
For brightness, Dangbei F3 has 2050ANSI lumens, but the brightness of Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F1C are 1400 and 1300 accordingly.
Dangbei F3 performs better in terms of brightness and carries HDR10+HLG decoding technology, whose MEMC picture refresh rate is up to 120Hz. All three projectors’ standard resolution is 1080P.

Dangbei F1 and Dangbei F3 both show the permeability of seawater and jellyfish, which better deliver the original flexibility of jellyfish in the picture. Dangbei F1C also shows good performance in detail, but it is still a little weak in brightness.
For portrait image, the most outstanding is Dangbei F3, whose fair skin color appears watery under high brightness. The image of Dangbei F1 keeps true to the original colors, and the skin color displayed by Dangbei F1C is more consistent with the original image.
To conclude, Dangbei F3 performs better in terms of picture quality and smart features. Dangbei F1C can match F3 in terms of performance and smart features, but its brightness is relatively poor. Dangbei F1 is cost-efficient as it has good overall performance.
