BenQ has announced the launch of its W5850 home theater projector, a laser-based model capable of projecting a screen as large as 200 inches for an immersive cinematic experience at home.

According to BenQ, the W5850 features a throw ratio of 1.0–1.6:1, allowing it to project a 180-inch image from a 4-meter distance. It uses a laser light source rated at 2,600 ANSI lumens, and in eco mode, the light source can last up to 25,000 hours, offering both brightness and long-term durability.

In terms of visual performance, the projector delivers 100% coverage of Rec.709 and DCI-P3 color gamuts, along with a dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1. It supports four-direction lens shift, 1.6x motorized zoom, and a range of HDR formats, including HDR10+ and HDR10, ensuring high precision and flexibility for home theater setups.

Connectivity options include HDMI 2.1 (with passthrough support for 7.1-channel audio and Dolby Atmos), as well as USB-A and SPDIF audio output, making it a versatile choice for home entertainment systems.

The BenQ W5850 is expected to launch in mid-May, with a retail price of €5,299.
